Victim bites off robber’s ear lobe in Abia

A suspected robber,  Chijioke Ikechi of Ukwudara, 7up Area, Aba, Abia State, has lost his left ear lobe during a robbery operation as it was bitten off by one of his victims who bravely grabbed and pinned him to the ground before giving him the bite.
According to the Abia State Police Public  Reations Officer, Mr. Udeviotu Onyeke, the suspect with other three members of his gang now on the run, had attacked residents of No. 9 Ukaegbu Road, Aba, when the incident took place.
The PPRO, said a police patrol  team from Ogbor Hill, Aba, who promptly responded to a distress call met the suspect at the scene of the crime  as he struggled  unsuccessfully to free himself  from the firm grip of one of the victims who held him after biting off his left ear lobe.
He said the other three members of the gang escaped on sighting the police patrol team.
Onyeke also said before  the arrival of the police, the robbers had  dispossessed their victims of N300,000 cash .
He said one of the victims,  Ndubuisi Mba, who had a machete cut from the robbers had been taken to the hospital for treatment.
The police spokesman said police recovered the machete and an iron pipe with a wooden grip that resembled  a gun which the hoodlums used to threaten their victims to submission.
He said efforts were on to track down the fleeing suspects, while appealing to members of the public with useful information on  their whereabouts to volunteer same to the police.
