Doom looms for Oliseh’s assistant

Feelers from the National Sports Commission indicate that there are lots of hurdles for Super Eagles coach designate, Sunday Oliseh to cross before his appointment could be sealed by the Nigeria Football Federation.
The Secretary General of the Nigeria Football Federation, Dr Mohammed Sanusi was seen at the NSC secretariat, locked in a meeting with Mallam Alhassan Yakmut, the Director General of the NSC where issues surrounding the engagement of Oliseh was discussed.
The meeting which lasted for over an hour was centred on the procedure the NFF went about the recruitment of Oliseh to succeed Stephen Keshi who was sacked last week.

While the NSC was angered over the fact that the NFF went about it’s business with Oliseh without seeking its approval, as stipulated by the civil service Procurement Act, the matter was said to have assumed a new dimension when it was noted that Oliseh was being engaged with a foreign assistant.
The NFF confirmed Sunday Oliseh will be working with a foreign assistant, Jean Francois Losciuto from Belgium.
The federal government is said to have issued a directive to all federal agencies warning that before any foreigner could be employed in Nigeria, such an opening must be one that there is no Nigerian who can do the job.
Our source further revealed that the main issue with the employment of Oliseh is the permission by the NFF that he should come along with a foreign assistant, a development which the NSC is said to be uncomfortable with, given the government’s directive on employment of foreigners.
However the source added that the NFF may still get the clearance to unveil Oliseh as earlier planned but whether he will still get the nod to engage the foreign assistant is what is yet to be determined.
