Okocha's Advice to Eagles

Former Nigeria midfielder Jay-Jay Okocha has called on the Super Eagles to aim higher than their predecessors at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

Okocha was the star of the legendary Eagles teams that reached the last-16 stage at the 1994 tournament in the USA as well as in 1998 when France hosted the event.

"Most of them (players) are coming onto the big stage for the first time and they need to be fortified mentally and psychologically to prevent them from getting carried away," the 40-year-old told the News Agency of Nigeria.

"Playing at the World Cup is every player's dream. They should play to instructions and make efforts at making their opponents play at their own pace.

"Our players should endeavour to surpass the old record and bring the much-desired victory to the nation," he added.

Okocha also played at the 2002 World Cup hosted in Korea/Japan.
