Rivers: Abductors of PDP Chieftains demand N140m ransom

The abductors of three chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Rivers State have made contact with the family of one of the victims.
Ikechi Chinda, Allwell Ihuwo and Chinyere Igwe were kidnapped at gunpoint from a hotel around Eagle Island in Port Harcourt on Wednesday night.
It was gathered that the wife of Ikechi Chinda received a phone call from the kidnappers, who have made a ransom demand of one hundred and forty million naira.
The PDP threatened to mobilize a mass protest if the men were not released within seventy-two hours.
Also on the same day, the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Rivers State reacted swiftly in defence of Governor Rotimi Amachi over the allegation by the PDP.
