THE PROFILE OF A POLITICAL CRUSADER
Alayande Ayantola popularly referred to as MAXIMUS, born in the gruelling military era of Gen. Sanni Abacha nurtured and bre...d through the subsequently resurgent democratic years, is a symbolic epitome of true governance.
Alayande Ayantola hails from Oyo East L.G.A in Oyo town, Oyo State, Nigeria. He had his primary school education at Federal College of Education (special), Nursery and Primary School, Oyo and Peace Nur &Pry School, Oyo. He then proceeded to St.Francis Catholic College, Oyo for his Secondary School Education from 2005 to 2011. In his secondary school days, he was the Social Prefect Boy.
In a further quest for knowledge, Ayantola obtained Diplome d’Etudes en Langue Francais (DELF –A1 cadre) from the Ministry of Education, France having scaled through the DELF A1 examination of Alliance Francaisse, Ibadan.
Ayantola later proceeded to the University of Ibadan to further his studies. In a bid to gain esoteric knowledge, He is presently pursuing his B.A in the Department of Classics, University of Ibadan where he is currently a 300 level student.
The young lad is a public speaker, poet, writer, rhetorician and orator in the making having drawn experiences from Nnamdi Azikiwe Hall Literary and Debating Society, Faculty of Arts Literary and Debating Society and Central Literary and Debating Society, University of Ibadan. He was in the winning team-Faculty of Arts in Jaw-War inter-faculty debate, 2014. He also won the inter-hall oratory competition, 2014 organised by Tedder Hall, and the In- House Speaking Championship 2014, Nnamdi Azikiwe Hall, to mention but a few of his achievements in the web of oratory.
Ayantola is a seasoned writer and analytical commentator. The one- time Pressman was a member of the CPC (Classics Press Club) before he resigned in 2014. Even after then, he has amassed for himself a prolific amount of communication skills, having worked with African Newspapers of Nigeria, Plc- (the producers of Nigerian Tribune) in 2015.
A student Diplomat in the making and a member of All Nigeria and United Nations Students and Youth Association (ANUNSA), UI, Ayantola is politically liberal with a belief in transparency and good governance. He is a devout Christian and a resident of Nnamdi Azikiwe Hall.
His belief in the maxim that the failure to participate in governance is automatic relinquishment of power to irresponsible individuals is the driving force behind his mission of becoming the Public Relations Officer (P.R.O) of the Students’ Union, University of Ibadan.
Let us all be involved in this crusade for change by electing him as the Students’ Union P.R.O; ‘’what starts here changes the world.’’
