A bizarre turn of events in Pakistan has seen a 9-month-old child being charged and taken to court.
Little Muhammad Mosa Khan was charged with planning a murder, threatening police and interfering in state affairs.
The baby is one of about 30 people who were charged after police conducted a raid to catch gas thieves.
The officers insist that the suspects were trying to kill them but the accused say that they were only protesting an electricity shortage.
Reports have it that the child, who appeared in the courtroom sitting on his father’s lap and holding a feeding bottle, was granted bail.
The case, which was adjourned till 12 April, has attracted outrage from Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif who says the officers who registered the case would be punished as soon as clarification was gotten on the matter.
The assistant superintendent who filed the charges has reportedly been suspended.
