A 25-year-old nanny, Esther Zingdam, was on Tuesday docked at an Igbosere Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, for allegedly stealing from her employer.
Zingdam of House 27, Atlantic Beach Estate, Victoria Island, Lagos, is reportedly charged with stealing a total sum of N350,000.
The prosecutor, Cpl. Olusegun Kukoye, told the court that the woman committed the offence on March 7 at 1.00 p.m. at 27, Atlantic Beach Estate, Victoria Island.
He said the accused stole the money kept in the bedroom of her employer, Mrs Constance Emiona.
According to him, the offence contravened Section 285 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Section 285 prescribes three years imprisonment for offenders.
NAN also reports that Emiona was in court as a witness for the prosecution.
The Magistrate, Mrs O. Olanipekun, granted the nanny bail in the sum of N50, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
The case was adjourned to May 21 for mention.
