From daily post...
Barely 24 hours after Islamic sect, Boko Haram launched an attack on Giwa Barracks in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital to free some of their members detained in the Barrack, the second set of the attackers stormed the Barracks Saturday morning.
However, the military intercepted them, killing hundreds while others, who fled are being pursued by soldiers.
A security source, who spoke to DailyPost, said the sect members succeeded in breaking the cell where their members were detained during the attack on Friday, but the military overwhelmed them killing all that were freed and those that went to free them.
“It was a bad experience on Friday, but the soldiers fought them gallantly, they killed them and even the remnant who tried to attack the barrack again on Saturday did not succeed as they were intercepted before coming close.
“As we speak, the corpses are being moved out of the area. They came in through Fori, but it was bad news for them”, he said.
He said amongst the attackers were some Arabians, which led credence to the speculation that the Boko Haram sect has some foreign backing.
“Those who were killed during the attack on Saturday are some Arabians. They would not succeed, and I believe their end has come”, he added.
Meanwhile, residents of Maiduguri have remained indoors after the military announced a curfew from 7 am to 2 pm.
