2 men arraigned for allegedly beating co-tenant to pulp

Two men, Christopher Emmanuel and Idowu Olayinka — were on Wednesday charged with attacking their neighbour at a Somolu Magistrates’ Court, Lagos.
Emmanuel, 24, and Olayinka, 20, whose home addresses are unknown, are being tried for assault and conspiracy.
The prosecution said the accused allegedly attacked their neighbour, Mr Adamu Musa, at his residence at No. 45, Bas Obanikoro St., Palmgrove on Jan. 23.
ASP Akinlabi Adegoke told the court that the accused attacked Musa and beat him to a pulp.
According to him, the incident took place at about 2.00 p.m. following a disagreement between the accused and Musa.
He said the offences violated Sections 171 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
Both Emmanuel and Olayinka pleaded not guilty to the charges.
In her ruling, the Magistrate, Mrs Bola Osunsanmi, granted the duo bail in the sum of N100, 000 each with two sureties each in like sum and adjourned the case to Feb. 19.
