Police Smash 6-man Car Snatching Syndicate

A six-man car snatching and armed robbery gang have been arrested by Delta State Police command.
The State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ikechukwu Aduba lead  detectives  yesterday  to the criminals hideout, in Asaba, an illegal panel beating workshop used by the gangs to   refurbish stolen cars
The police detectives stormed the illegal workshop   at about 12: 45 pm, arresting five members of the gang.
According to Aduba, “the command uncovered a workshop where stolen vehicles are refurbished before they are sold to unsuspecting buyers”.
“The workshop located at F. Okoji Ndah  close , off  Ambassador  Leo Okogwu street Asaba was  discovered  on  Wednesday , following an information  received by the police that one Toyota Highlander SUV  with registration number AKD703AE (Lagos)  was snatched at gun point  from one Mrs.  Uche Osigwe  in Enugu State ”.
Aduba said  on a  tip off , the state police operatives stormed the above workshop and arrested  five suspects ,  one Kelechukwu Okoye, Chidiebere  Owuse,  Nkemefuna  Odenigbo , Nzube Eze and Chinedu  Agulobe.
He said   Felix Nadh, a Deltan and indigene of Asaba was also arrested. He said the suspect  is  the owner of the property  used by the gang,  who  had earlier  escaped   from police surveillance  but were arrested through the assistance of the Asaba vigilante group.
Several vehicle number plates and instruments used for panel beating and painting of stolen vehicles were also recovered.
According to Aduba, the suspects who hail  from the neighbouring Anambra state are helping the police in investigation as they will soon be charged to court.
He used the occasion to assure the public that the police was ready to pursue the criminals to their hideouts, while appealing to the public to assist the police with information on the activities of criminals in the state.
